Media & Communications Strategies, Inc. a Washington, D.C.-based crisis management and communications firm, is currently seeking interns for the Spring 2015 semester (January – May).

Media & Communications Strategies, Inc. serves a range of clients – including associations, law firms, architecture firms, high-profile individuals, foreign governments, and non-profits. Some need to protect their reputations from intense threats. Others are trying to shape new laws. All are looking for creative, outside-the-box solutions that bring together politics, public policy, and media/communications.

Our intern will be an integral part of the team at Media & Communications Strategies, Inc. Day-to-day tasks range from monitoring the media for breaking news and relevant commentary, researching public policy issues, filming protests and political marches, assisting with event planning, providing administrative support and assisting with strategic thinking for a broad range of clients. The small size of our firm allows interns to work closely with senior staff members and provides opportunities for substantive work.

Candidates must be able to juggle a range of tasks and work well under pressure. Previous office environment experience and a major in communications, public relations, journalism or political science is preferred, but not required. Social media expertise is a plus. We are looking for interns with outgoing and creative personalities, obsessive about work, and interested in PR as a career. Writing and verbal communications skills are a must.

This is a paid internship starting in January 2015. College credit can also be given in lieu of pay. Start and end dates are negotiable. Please indicate in your cover letter whether you are applying for a full (5 days/week) or part-time (3 days/week) internship.
