Agency: Media & Communications Strategies, Inc. (MAC Strategies – www.macstrategies.com) represents B-to-B, B-to-C and B-to-G clients of all kinds, both in the U.S. and internationally. Many of our clients are related to law firms or related to law firms. We have particular expertise in crisis, media and social media relations, legal, professional and financial services, healthcare, aviation and government relations. Position Description:  Managers or Senior Account Executives represent our brand and our values to our clients and all stakeholders — we help form and protect our client’s reputations and our reputation is incredibly important to us so we choose our staff and coworkers very carefully. In order to be part of our team you need and high work ethic, imagination, exceptional writing and speaking skills, the ability to “keep the trains running” while tracking budgets, multiple accounts and deadlines. A Director or Senior Account Executive must also have very strong proven client relations skills and intuition. You need a journalist’s background or intimately know how a journalist thinks and know the newsgathering industry and process.  Of course, our staff is deadline driven, always available for work within reason and on a Mission For Our Clients. At MAC Strategies we have an optimistic and “can do” mentality and personality.

Reports to:  Scott Sobel, president.

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree required. PR agency and account management experience required and staff supervision preferred professional with 3-6 years of minimum experience. Journalism, Spanish speaking and legal, healthcare, aviation, general business, general government, media training, budgeting and administrative experience a plus but not required, in all cases. Familiarity with Profnet, Cision, LexisNexis, media monitoring, PR value measurement and all related software a plus. Video production and editing a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account strategist
  • Act as primary point of contact with clients;
  • Conceive, direct, and execute all media relations, social media, government relations, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for reputation and brand enhancement, visibility and media exposure for client accounts;
  • Prepare press releases, bylined articles, and pitches;
  • Research and maintain targeted lists editorial calendars, publications and reporters relevant to client accounts;
  • Direct and counsel staff
  • Prepare RFP’s, monthly results and budget reports
  • Contribute and advise about our agency and client web sites
  • Monitor and track placements and prepare results reports
  • Possess excellent computer skills
